Blue Bell Inn on Cobbs Creek
Built in 1766 as a tavern and ordinary (place of light refreshment) on the main stage-coach road between Philadelphia and the southern colonies, the Blue Bell has many stories to tell of our nation's burth and development. Next to the Bell, in Cobbs Creek, is the site of Old Swedes Mill, Pennsylvania's first water driven Mill. built in 1646

The Bell was also the scene of a battle duriing the British occupation of Philadelphia, and the Campaign to clean out Fort Mifflin and the river  involving 2500 Brits and 28 Americans...it was not a very long battle
