Evolution of the Blues
Joe Becton in 19th Century attire sings and plays traditional instruments (guitar and harmonica) as he takes participants on a musical walk through American history and music from Sy Gillat to John Coltain. He traces the styles of music developed by Africans in Ameirca and the collision of cultures that created the music we call Gospel, Jazz and Blues.
Ged Roman is an emerging voice on the Philadelphia scene with a style that is a blend of 70's rock/pop with a folk base and a bit of world sound.  Ged began his musical journey in Valencia, Venezuela, where his grandfather introduced him to classical music and the music of the 60's and 70's. He started to play guitar when he was 13. Three years later he began writing tunes and playing a studio piano his father bought him. Today, he has an entire repertoire of his own, mostly in English, but also with many songs in Spanish. Self-taught, Ged's style is akin to the great songwriters of the 1970's, while having an entirely original, new sound. You can hear him by clicking on www.gedroman.com
